The Richmond Seen stopped by Jackson Ward’s Natroganix to meet two women redefining wellness in Richmond. In a season of renewal and rising conversations around holistic health, we asked them for their top spring wellness practices. Their tips speak to intention, nourishment, and the quiet power of reconnecting with your body.

Let’s be real — some of us could live a little healthier. Be well in spirit, mind and body. The accessibility of healthy foods can be challenging, and for those of us working long hours, cooking isn’t always an option. Factor in the weight of societal stresses, jobs, families, relationship, and the general grind, our well-being can be in jeopardy. The key? Finding intentional, sustainable ways to care for our mental and physical well-being, even in the chaos. (updated April 23, 2025)

Practice intermittent fasting, aim to eat after 11 AM. Your body is still in digestion mode early in the morning, so giving it time before your first meal can support better metabolism.

Hydrate with H3O2

Prioritize hydration through fresh, water-rich fruits like seeded watermelon, cantaloupe, and seeded grapes. H3O2, or “structured water,” found in fruits contains essential minerals that hydrate more effectively than regular water.

Avoid greasy and heavy foods during peak sun hours. When the sun is at its highest, your body works harder to process dense foods, which can slow you down and deplete energy.

Soak Up the Sun, Stay Hydrated

Get outside and absorb some sunlight for natural vitamin D, but make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated as temperatures rise.

Spend time barefoot on the earth. Connecting with the ground can help improve mental clarity, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.
